Last week, OMNI had the pleasure of participating in the Interzoo 2024 Tradeshow, the world’s largest pet industry event, held in Nuremberg, Germany. Our representatives, Leah Le Roux and Christian Perdrau, attended the show on May 6th and 7th, and they returned with exciting insights and valuable observations about the evolving pet industry.
Interzoo 2024 was a bustling hub of activity, showcasing a wide array of suppliers and innovations. While the majority of exhibitors focused on pet food, the tradeshow also featured products and services related to pet food technology and equipment, ingredients, as well as non-food items such as pet accessories, grooming products, supplements, and hygiene solutions.
One of the most notable trends at this year’s Interzoo was the significant emphasis on sustainability. Both in the pet food sector and the pet hygiene industry, there was a clear shift towards more eco-friendly practices and products. Suppliers are increasingly prioritising sustainable sourcing, environmentally friendly packaging, and production methods that reduce the ecological footprint.
Another intriguing trend observed was the shift from fresh “raw” pet food to ambient “raw” food. This change is largely driven by factors of convenience and accessibility. Ambient “raw” food offers the nutritional benefits of raw food while being easier to store and handle, making it a practical choice for pet owners.
Attending Interzoo 2024 was an enriching experience that provided us with valuable insights into the current trends and future directions of the pet industry. We are excited to leverage these insights to enhance our product offerings and continue to meet the evolving needs of pet owners around the world.
Stay tuned for more updates as we explore these opportunities and work towards delivering innovative, sustainable, and high-quality products for our beloved pets.
